Course
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Diploma in
Elementary Education ( D.El.Ed.) is a course offered for those
interested in pursing career in teaching. The B.Ed. degree is
mandatory for teaching in higher primary schools and high schools.
The D.El.Ed. degree is mandatory for teaching in primary schools.
The minimum qualification required for entry into B.Ed. course is
Bachelor of Arts ( B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) , Bachelor of
Commerce (B.Com). While students from arts stream are trained to
teach subjects like history, civics, geography and language, the
students from science stream are trained to teach mathematics,
physics, chemistry and biology.
D.El.Ed is a 2-year full-time diploma course which is divided into 4
semesters. Candidates who have qualified 10+2 or equivalent
examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks
are eligible to apply.
